I collect hankies and inherited a lot from my granny. Here are some things I've done with them. I take two sew them together and make pillows. I've taken three and sometimes four sewed them together and made a table runner. Sometimes I use them as luncheon napkins. I've used them as mattes for framed pictures. I use them on furniture to protect it from items that could scratch the surface. I sewed several together at the corners to form diamonds and used it as a valance for a small bathroom window. I also make scented bath salts and used a hankie on the top of the jar secured with a ribbon as a gift. And, I've used them in the bottom of my lingerie drawer as a liner to protect delicates from being snagged on the wood.

I would do a couple different things, depending on how many you have. I would fill some with potpourri and then tie them with a pretty ribbon. You can keep these in public areas, like a living room or bathroom, or in your underwear drawer, which makes everything smell really nice! My mother also used to keep lace hankies underneath plants, picture frames, etc., like a doily. Good luck, and have fun crafting!

i imagine if those belonged for your large grandmother then the cloth and lace are literally not meant for harsh chemical cleaners alongside with they have right now. so merely soak them in one day in Murphy's cleansing soap - a teaspoon in a gallon of water. Then very heavily contained in the rinse water drop a teaspoon of lemon juice. this can brighten them a minimum of. at the same time as they're only fairly damp iron them with a steam iron on low temperature. you're able to then wrap them in white tissue paper to save them from further yellowing with age. i do no longer imagine that you will be in a position to do away with all the set-in stains yet they are going to be cleanser and brighter.
