Oakland only won 20 during their 2002 streak, not 21.

The record is 21, but it's held by the Cubs, who did it in 1880 and 1935. (when they did it in 1880, they were actually the White Stockings, which is confusing)

For those who have said the Giants won 26 straight, you are wrong. They had a 1-1 tie in the middle of that streak:

So, Chicago is the correct answer - not the Giants.

The 1916 NY Giants won 26 in a row between Sept. 7 and Sept. 30. They finished only in 4th palce.
