I'm sure we can all agree that picking a day to stop driving just won't work.........

With that said,Why not Try this?

If EVERYONE Stopped Buying gas from Exxon/Mobil(They're making the Most Money) for 1 Month I Guaruntee they will drop there Prices.

They would have to,then to be able to compete, other companies would follow suit.........

Instead of Blaming others(instead of Supply and Demand)We as Consumers need to accept some Responsibility on this Issue......

We as Consumers can set the Price by Boycotting Exxon/Mobil completely.

So What Say YOU?

Are any of you willing to Stop buying Gas from Exxon/Mobil for 1 Month?

I Stopped a few months ago.So have my Family(entire family)and friends too...........

And their telling their friends to stop.Word of Mouth can only go so far though. With all the People here,You would be surprised at the difference you can make.......

So you can continue complaining OR you can actually do something........................

Even people I know that work for oil companies say this indeed WOULD WORK if people had the balls to make it happen.

I think it's a wonderful idea.

Let the oil companies sit on their gas for a while. They can feel the pinch a little bit just as each of us has.

For my family, I know we've curbed our traveling by at least 75%.

At the rate we're going, people will continue to fuel up their SUVs at the same rate even when and if gas hits $5.00 a gallon.

Madness I tells ya!

Unless you are buying TV, radio, and internet ad space to get this message across, it won't work.

The problem at the Alaskan Pipeline will only ensure the prices stay up.

Of course, we are all supposed to know that there is plenty of oil in reserve right now that the pipeline problem should not be a concern, but the spin doctors will puff more earnings because of it.

Like cows entering the slaughterhouse, we should all go "moo" at the pump.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea. However, if we avoid Exxon / Mobil (I do anyway) yet we continue to consume they same quantity of gas, where is the gas coming from? What I mean is, where is your local retailer getting their gas from?

How many of those unmarked tankers filling up your local supplier are getting gasoline from Exxon / Mobil?

If we could give them a pinch, I think it would only be a small one.

But I'm willing to keep on trying.

Wow~!! That's an expensive hypothesis.... if Exxon/Mobile is leadin' in gas prices then u would have 2 assume that they are also the cheapest.

I would rather pay $4 a gallon on something definite than add an extra dollar to the gallon if that.... for an uneducated assumption.... ur theory is hardly borderline optimistic.

Good idea! The only way to help the situation is a drop in consumption. Plus, as you pointed out, we are responsible for what products are sold (supply and demand), so we should use our economic vote to punish those who cheat us (through loss of business) and reward those who don't (with our business).

Another thing that would help everyone out would be if there was only one requirement for each fuel type. Almost every single state has a different formula that they require. This costs the fuel suppliers a lot, and they pass that on to consumers. If there was only one required formula, it would be much easier and cheaper for fuel companies to produce gas and we would pay less at the pump.

Sounds like a great idea!
But what gas stations does Exxon/Mobil own?
I know they own more than just the trade mark Exxon ones.

I sooo agree with you! But there is a problem with your idea. Exxon and Mobile are all being bought up buy LUK OIL, a Russian company. So maybe it be better to boycott Luk Oil. There are so many Luk Oils around now. They are heading to become a global conglomerate. This is not good news.

I never buy gas from Exxon/Mobil. I buy all my gas from Citgo and I convince anyone I can to do the same whenever I get the chance.

ok im not dissing you ok im really not. BUT!! the only reason the gas prices are so high is because of the price and exxon and mobile have better octane in their gas and even of we stop buying theres still so many people in the world who is and it si bush!!! so they are not going to decrease money to get money you know???? so i thought of it too but then i talked to people and thought about it so i wish it could happen but it wont til bush gets out of office

I think they should legelize go-karts to be able to drive on the main roads. Yeah it might not be as nice as ridin' with an a/c or a heater or a great family vehical, but atleast your gas milage would be alot better. And you could drive your suv/car/truck for when you go on vacations or have to drive long distances back and forth to work or somethin' along down those lines.

All you're doing is sending the profits to BP and Chevron (in fact, it makes me suspect that perhaps you work for one of them). BTW, BP are the ones who currently have trouble in their lines, and are the latest excuse for the increased prices.

What we all need to do is STOP BUYING GAS. If we all were serious about biking, walking, busing and carpooling to work, demand would go down, and they'd have no choice but to lower prices in order to get our business.

Just buying gas from the competition has very little effect overall.
