You can play the treble of piano music on the violin but obviously in violin there is only one clef (treble) and thus it wouldn't really work to play violin music on piano, since only your right had would be playing. But yes, piano treble you can play on violin, depending on the piece. most will work. But not really violin on piano unless you add your own bass notes.

For the melody yes, but I dunno about violin chords.
