It depends on what that blue screen says it could be directx needs to be replaced it may mean your graphics driver needs to be updated it could mean the fan failed on your vid card and it over heated and stopped talking to the game or it could mean a virus is chewing on your system while you were playing try to write down what the BSOD (Blue Screen od Death) says and repost the question.

I don't think you should repair anything. Just restart your computer and try to get an updated version for the game you were playing. If an updated version is not available, avoid using that game. And when you still want to play with it, make sure you have no unsaved data in other programs.

Ahh yes, every windows user's worst enemy, the blue screen of death. As for the reason for your crash, it can be so many different things its hard to tell you where to start. My problem last summer involved any video intensive game crashing...turns out my power supply wasn't giving enough juice to my graphics card. Try swapping out any parts (one by one) and try to isolate your problem spot. Places to start are your graphics card, psu, etc. This, of course, can also be a software problem. If it's happening in several different applications its probably either Windows or hardware. Good luck with your troubleshooting.
