Around here she's called Bloody Mary. Never tried it, and never will, but the story scared the bejesus out of me as a kid.

bloody Mary 3 times in a dark room with a candle she will appear and scratch Ur face off or Ur eyes out or pull u in the mirror with her and never be seen again
some of them Ive heard or she will appear and u can ask questions, bloody Mary i killed Ur baby. Place a baby doll in front of the mirror sometimes she will grab u even when Ur not trying to contact her when in a darkened room.
Here's the legend : About 100 years ago or so there was a woman named Mary. One day she had a terrible accident and her face was scratched so badly she bled to death. But her spirit could not rest
Mary roams the world as an evil ghost If you stand in front of a mirror the dark and summoned her name 3 times you will see a mangled face if u see her turn the lights on quickly or she will try to scratch ur face off.
Summoning Mary requires the right chant "I believe in Mary Worth" is the key phrase according to one version but others require shouting the of " Kathy, come out!" or the repetition of " bloody Mary" into the mirror as many times as the ritual demands. ( Sometimes Bloody Mary gets more of a script and is summoned by calls of "bloody Mary i killed your baby"!
Good luck!

Mary Worth? Brrrr. Gives me chills. That apron. Those kindly wrinkles. Aeiiieee!
I think you referring the children's game of repeating "Bloody Mary" and then seeing her in the mirror. This was a rather calculating way to demonize Catholics (See, Mary Tudor tried to restore Catholicism to England after Henry the Eighth died and was called "Bloody Mary" because of the mayhem that ensued).
There was a movie where the same effect was gained by saying "Candy Man" - a bowdlerized version, somewhat like the Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe, catch a TIGER by the toe. As if tigers had toes.
But once something enters Kid World, adults can't "remove" it, they can only morph it, like changing the "N-word" in the eeny-meeny poem to a "T-word". Kids have no cooth, no conscience, and no compassion.
But, if you are ever successful in your summoning, I hope you escape from Mary Worth with nothing worse than a plate of Tollhouse Cookies. Cheers.

No, I cannot imagine what someone would hope to accomplish, by repeating belief in a comic strip character 3 times?

Check out this site for origins of this legend:

This site also has many references to other horror stories and origins of urban legends, as well as much more - it is one of my favorite sites.
