Electricity and water don't mix well. You probaby will not get it to work. What may be possible is to take the SIM card out and put it into your new phone.

But as the other answer said, you could try pulling the phone case apart so it will dry out.

I've had this happen twice now & I've been lucky. Separate the battery from the phone. Place both in a warm location (but not in direct sunlight). Leave it for at least 24hrs. Take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and clean off the contacts on the phone (the little metal things where the battery touches the back of the phone). Reinstall the battery & try to power it up. If it doesn't work, at the most you'll just need to buy a new battery on eBay (likely under $10 w/shipping) or at your local cell store. When you drop it in water (or by powering up the phone while it's wet) you will short out the battery. MAKE CERTAIN that the phone is completely dry before installing a new battery! Your phone should be fine... if it is showing the loading sign, there's hope that it'll be ok.

Good luck!

There is no guarantee that phone will ever work again. You can let it dry out (remove the battery while it does). If it does not work, if you have wireless phone insurance you can get the phone replaced for a relatively low cost deductible. If you do not have insurance and the phone does not work after drying out, you may still be able to find a used phone from friends, relatives or even ebay if you do not want to pay full retail or get a new contract to get a new phone.

Take out a couple of screws and let it dry out completely first. My siste did the same thing except she dropped hers in the toilet, yea i know pretty gross ehh. Well we dried it out completely and it did not work. But she has a sim card for hers, which t-mobile, cingular and some other companies use, but unlike verizon wireless, they don't have sim cards so your luck y if you have a verizon phone. Anyways, my mom had also did the same thing except she has verizon, so we let hers dry out completely and when we turned hers on it worked just fine. But she obviously cleaned hers. SO if yours is verizon then your in luck! But i can't garuntee it will work again though, my mom just might have been lucky. Otherwise you might have to get a new phone because the majority of the time they never work again. SO let it sit out in the sun and dry for at least 24 hours. Good luck!! Also make sure you take out the battery and everything else that can come off without you breaking it. Good luck!

My son dropped my phone in the toilet, it was only in there for about 10 seconds. I tried to take out the battery and let it dry to no avail. It did start working again, but it was only temporary. After a couple of days to a week it stopped working again, this time permanently. Luckily, I had insurance on my phone..do you? Because it's not going to work again! You are going to have to take it in for repair! They usually can give you a loaner phone while it is being fixed though.

You can take the battery out and leave them out to dry. Best bet is to wait for 24 hours, then put the battery back into the phone. It might work, but if it doesn't then I'm afraid that your phone is broken. My grandma accidentally drop her phone in a bowl of water once and we took out the battery and dried it out. It worked the next day.

Let it fully dry. If you can remove its skins and battery bay use qtips and dry is as soon as you can. If it does not work after 24 hours to 3 days then it might not ever work again.

It will take at least 16 hours to dry. Probably around 30.

Don't try to heat up the phone or turn it on to dry it.

I dropped my phone in the sink once. The only thing that was affected on mine was the sound though.... I took the back off and popped the battery out. I turned my blow dryer on it for a while and let it dry out for a day and it got better. It sounds like yours is dead though, but good luck!

Put it near the back of the refridgerator so that the air blows on it all night long or more time if needed. It may need to be opened up so the air can cerculate in the internal parts. It worked for me when I accidently washed my phone.

you should have waited a while so it could dry.
hopefully it didn't short out when you turned it on.

my best friend put his phone in the washing machine once.
wait for it to dry.
then try to turn it on.
if it doesn't work take it to the store you bought it from.

if you have verizon and it's under warranty they will probably replace the phone for free (i'm not sure if they will unconditionally, like do to damage)
but if it's the battery you will have to purchase a new one.

good luck.
