I have an idea for a product that highly increases the chances for lesbians and single women who want to get pregnant through artificial insemination. How long do people usually test products out before they put them on the market?
Please, serious answers only.

Testing is not based on time - its based on thoroughness.
If you have a simple device, it is usually pretty simple to test and
it may not take much time at all.

However, with drugs, you have to test for possible side effects
and side effects may take a long long time to emerge. Therefore,
the FDA may have tests that take decades.

It really depends on what you are testing. There is no magic
number for all possible inventions.

Go to a patent lawyer ($) - don't try to do it yourself and then sell the idea.
