There is a funny story behind this. Here it is.

When my dad was in the Marine Corps, they were served a dish, often, made of chipped beef in a cream gravy, served over toast.

ALL the marines, called it , "s**t on a shingle. Actually, I love it!

I would make this entree for my boyfriend often. He loved it.

When he became physicaly abusive, I broke up with him.
He called me the next day and asked me to tell him how I made it.

I was mad. I said this, to him, "You don't need the recipe. You ARE s**t on a shingle".

To this day, whenever I make it, I think of him.

S**T ON A SHINGLE.
