Well my question title really sucks, because doing so would require a huge change in society not even hinted by my question...

It's probably better not to explain more anyway. Tell me what you think about this idea, and how oyu think it may work, or why you think it never will.

I think that it is a great idea that will never work :-)
Any other opinions?

The only alternative is barter, and that is so inconvenient that we would soon find an alternative monetary system to replace it. For example, Milton Friedman, the economist, relates his book Money Mischief how cigarettes, shells, stones, and other items have been used as currency (for example, cigarettes in prison).

We can't function without monetary systems. We may be getting more and more away from paper and going to plastic but we couldn't live or function without a system.
