I got a part time job in a grocery store, a week ago, and I
was off 2 days and was called for another job, went today,
it was in a Doctor's office making appointments, general office stuff. To be honest the Doctor's office is quite boring, the other job is more physically demanding. The bad thing is they both pay $5.15 an hour. I am suppose to go to the grocery store tommrow but I don't know which to choose. The Doctors office has benefits after 90 days, which on minumim wage that isn't affordable. I know most people would say the boring job, but seriously I am in my 40's and jobs aren't that easy to find, any opinions would be helpful.

This is easy! Go with the grocery store one--you will be moving about and may have a better opportunity to "move up" for a promotion. You will NOT like sitting on your duff alllllll day at a boring doctor's office hearing and reading about other's physical problems. It'll be depressing, plus, you will meet more people at the grocery store, hence, a chance to land a better job. Jobhunting sucks--I'm doing it myself.

I would say that you should go with the job that you like the most if you're a people person go with the grocery job and if your not go with the Doctors job but I think that the doctors job is a ripe off because you will be getting paid to less for a lot of work just try to see if the grocery store also has benefits but I think that with you being in your 40s you should really do something that you really love and not something to get you by.

Benefits are like pay. If the grocery store doesn't give you benefits, then take the doctor's office. Plus, you are now in more of a white collar area, so you can move up from there.

i'd take the office job, because i have a cashier job and i can't really say i enjoy having to stand behind the register without the ability to move around for about three hours until break. actually i'm not even sure your grocery store job is cashiering, but if it is that would my choice. where are you that you only get $5.15 an hour?

sounds like you'e leaning towards the grocery store so you should take that one. Don't worry about the benefits. Key word _ BENEFIT - They can change them or take them away whenever they choose. Unfortunately, that is the ball and chain to most people being in jobs they hate. I think the pay for both are terrible, but if you're wanting the grocery store job, then take that one!
