I am 15, and my left lymph node is swollen and have been for months. I noticed it in March and went to my school nurse and she told me it was probably fighting off the flu or a cold or something because there was something going around then, but if it doesn't go down within a couple of months then go see a doctor. I am going tomorrow. But does anyone know what is wrong? Or have you experienced this before?

BTW, sometimes my teeth hurt so I think I am getting my wisdom teeth in. I know it's early but it can happen and I think I feel them trying to pop through.

I told my friend and she said her cousin's lymph nodes were swollen because she had mono, but I really don't think I have mono even though my throat hurts off and on throughout the day.

Thanks!!

Mono. You should probably go and have it checked out. Shame on the nurse for telling you to wait.

You could also have Strep throat and not realize it. When I get it, my throat hardly hurts. Kind of funny I know but when you go to the dr. make sure you get a strep culture. As for your wisdom teeth, go to the dentist and get some xrays. He/She will be able to tell you if they are going to be a problem or not. If they are and you decide to get them removed, I highly suggest that you get IV meds so you are completely out. That is not something you want to be awake for. If you have insurance it's only like $100 more. Good luck, hope everything is ok.
