You can select what you want file to download too normally. You may have selected away do this before option witch will make all your downloads go to the location without you selecting the location.

Look for the options in your web browser. You can reset your web browsers to default. Most of the time it will bring up a window that will let your select browse and pick location.

You can find free virus and spy ware programs on line just do some searches for them. Like spy bot search and destroy. I almost never use the free ones because the ones you pay for work much better. So I know less about the free ones.

If you can add a new hard driver to you computer would be nice. the computer will recognize it as different of course ... create new folder in the new hard driver then youput buch of crap in there.

Now to keep your computer away from Viruses and spywares you have to get a good antivirus software. Norton is good , but I dont like it .... McAfee it's ok ... then use those free tool like Spybot and Ad-Ware

1. Use a different web browser other than Internet Explorer, I would recommend Firefox, because it allows you to specify the directory (drive) to which you download.

2. I would agree with a previous answer, Adaware is a great program for removing unneeded spyware. You can never eliminate all the spyware on your computer, so the best solution would be for you to be cautious to which website you choose to enter.

1) If you use IE (Internet Explorer) It should pop up and ask if it should save or open the download. If you choose save the next screen that comes up you can navigate around your entire PC choose another HD from my computer and then choose to save it there. If you use something like Mozilla Firefox its option is to dump everything to one folder click the tools and then option menu to change its behavior.

2) Use an anti spyware program like spybot search and destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) or Lavasoft Adaware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) to keep that gnasty spyware down or install the Yahoo toolbar they also have a half descent scanner that looks like a little target.

You would have to install another hard drive, put the same operating system on it and set it as the default drive.
