upon further inspection, i found what looks like a small scabbed over wound on the top of her head right behind the upper eyelid. still no puss, etc.

as there is a reason it is just irritation from the mild injury, i would rather leave it alone, because anything could irritate it even more. how about covering the tank and switching off the light for a day - it will calm down the animal and its eye will have some rest. with salty solution or human eyedrops you can never be sure if you have the right concentratioin - you can harm the eye easily, although as you know there is skin on reptiles eyes so it is not exactly as putting salt in your eye. anyway i wouldnt apply anything than sterile water or dilluted chamomile tea. and i would rush to vet if the eye gets runny of any worse. i suggest you check the tank and figiure out how it could possible get rubbed on the head - you dont want it to happen again!

ive had this problem. there are two causes and a simple remedy providing its not to serious. 1 your dragon has an eye infection (duh) caused by something other than the second.when dragons start to slough they will scracth their heads and face and will sometimes get their eye Ive had both problems id start with bathing the eye with some saline or very mild warm salty water.
all you ll need to do is get yourself a syringe (without the needle of course ) and fill it with the solution and gently empty it onto the reptiles eye.this will not hurt the animal providing you dont squirt it on like a hose or that the salt solution is not to salty.
id do this twice a day for a week and if i didn't see any improvement id then go to a vet
good luck

There are many diseases and conditions that can cause the type of eye problems that you are describing. This could be a parasitic problem, bacterial problem, fungal disease, congenital problem, foreign body or environmental issues. So, you see, you will need a vet to determine what is causing the problem to get the best chance of treating your beardie correctly.
Please don’t wait any longer. Find a herp vet who can help you with your little beardie to be able to give it the best opportunity to recover (although it may not be possible to cure it and restore its vision). But, it’s worth a try.

As a manage i might continually provide my toddler beardie the toddler nutrition Turkey - it substitute into floor up turkey that they looked as though it would love and alter right into a brilliant source of protein. additionally i did butternut squash and others. seem on line to locate a itemizing of greens that are risk-free on your toddler beardie and you need to use any of those greens that are presented in a toddler nutrition sort. good success!

OK WELL IF IT ISNT INFECTED.CLEAN IT USING A SOFT TOOTHBRUSH(.50 WALMART), WARM WATER(FREE) AND DIAL SOAP(1.00 FOR THE HAND WASH VERSION). TRY NOT TO GET THE MIXTURE IN THE ANIMALS EYES.
THEN...
AFTER IT HAS COMPLETELY BEEN CLEANED AND THE SCAB HAS BEEN BROKEN OFF. RINSE THE AREA WITH STERILE SALINE WATER(2.00 WALMART). CAREFULLY AND QUICKLY USE A PREFILLED COTTON SWAB OF IODINE(1.00 AT DOLLAR TREE, 4.00 WALMART). PUT ENOUGH TO COVER THE WOUND AND THE EDGES OF THE WOUND.
KEEP AN EYE ON IT AND IT SHOULD BE FINE... IF THE ANIMAL STOPS EATING AND BEGINS TO CHANGE COLORS TO ITS STRESSED COLOR(USUALLY ALOT DARKER THAN ITS USUAL COLOR) TAKE IT TO A VET. BEARDIES ARE USUALLY REALLY GOOD HEALERS AND NOT ALOT OF WORK. I GET IN ALOT OF BEARDIES WHO HAVE HAD AMPUITATIONS(NOT DONE MEDICALLY EITHER). AND IT ALWAYS SEMMS TO HEAL FINE.
GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS HELPS.

If you check out this forum http://bearded-dragons.com/boards/index.php They are extremely helpful. Do you have another beardie in the same tank with him?

maybe you should take it to a vet just in case. if that's to costly, you can go to Petco or Petsmart and ask for tips.
