First of all, you did the right thing, even though I'm sure it was hard. You already know all the reasons why breaking up with a married man is the best thing you can do to get yourself out of a hurtful situation, and find a man who deserves your affection.

Secondly, the only way you will be able to move on is if you don't have to see this man every day. Is it at all possible to change jobs? Or at least change departments so you don't have to interact? If it is, do it. Don't write any goodbye letters or give him any chances to say he wants you back because you will be tempted to give in. No dramatic scenes. Just do everything you can to get yourself into a better situation. Good luck.
