I have had both of my daughters 2 weeks early due to high blood pressure. Both of them came out fine and I was in labor for 5 hours with one and 6 and a half with the other. I was induced both times. Good luck and congratulations!

37 weeks is not full term. 38 week is. Many many babies are born at 37 weeks and are just fine but some born at 37 weeks are not. You never know which babies will do fine at 37 weeks and which ones won't. It just depends on the baby. Even if the baby does not come out looking/acting full term then the hospital will be able to help the little one with everything he/she needs. Science has come a long ways. My sister-in-law had a baby weighing just over two pounds. That baby is now a whopping 22 pounds and 10 months old. So your baby will be fine even if it is born at 37 weeks.

High Blood pressure...it depends on how high it is. If it is to the point of hypertension then you need to get that baby out ASAP. If it is just slightly high then I would take a watch and wait stance. Wait but keep a very close eye on your blood pressure. Every day you keep that baby inside of you is a possible two days less that it would have to spend in the NICU.

A pregnancy is considered full-term if birth falls between 37 to 42 weeks of the estimated due date. SO there is little to no risk for your baby being born 37 weeks or later except those related to labor and delivery anyway.

The Dr could possibly be concerned with Pre-Eclampsia pregnancy induced high blood pressure which is very dangerous to you and your baby. It can progresses to eclampsia which can cause seizures and permanent vison problems and death in some instances.

I would go with whatever my doctor recommended in that case.

Babies are now considered full term if born after 38 weeks. The risks of having your baby at 37 weeks are minimal compared to the complications that could result from the high blood pressure.

Why on earth would you rely on strangers for medical advice? If you are not sure, ask another doctor but don't go beyond 37 weeks waiting for a 2nd opinion.

However, if you are having high blood pressure problems, the doctor is most likely giving you the best advice. High blood pressure can cause complications that could cost both of you your lives. It's a very dangerous situation.

Oh, that's really not too early. If your BP is that high, the risks of carrying the baby to term are far greater than having your baby now. High blood pressure can be very dangerous to you and the baby (you could suffer from seizures) Don't worry about delivering now - things will be fine. If you really don't want to, you can always get a second opinion, but don't waste too much time. Congratulations! You're going have that bundle in your arms soon :)

at 37 weeks your baby is full term and will be fine if delivered. the doctors want you to induce because of your high blood pressure and are worried about the risks of preeclampsia. also, having high blood pressure can cause your baby to loose weight, and it's usually better to have the baby out sooner. don't worry, things will be just fine.

my sister was given and emergency ceserian at 33 weeks because of extreamly high blood pressure. If it was left any longer my sis and her baby would have died. My sis crashed on the operating table after the baby was taken out (dont mean to scare you if it does) My nephew who was tiny (and would have been a small full term baby cause mum was so sick) is a gorgeous 2 year old with no problems. Although its better to go full term you cant risk you or your baby. Im sure your Dr. knows what he/she is doing, Good luck

Babies are considered "Full - Term" at 37 weeks, but they really do need that last 3 weeks to fatten up! But with your high blood pressure, he's probably affraid you are getting toximia, bad stuff! I would induced for the same reason!

First of all congratulations on the soon to be birth of your baby! a baby can be delivered at 37 weeks and have no problems at all. he or she is fully developed then. millions of babies are born around that time as it is very safe.my son was supposed to be born at 37 weeks because of a problem i had developed. i was unsure of his conception date so he was delivered by c-section at 38 weeks just to be sure. he was more than fine! he is now 9 months old and doing everything an active 9month old would do. my sister was induced with her daughter at 37 weeks. this was planned as my sister did not want to wait for the 40th week lol. i think she was given a steriod to quickly develop the lungs but i am not totally sure of this. this is something to ask your dr. it may have been one of my friends who delivered her baby at 28 weeks. even to this lilttle girl is doing great now. if you have high blood pressure it is more than likely in you and your babies best interest if you deliver at 37 weeks. I know this may seem scary to you but i assure you from experience you will be fine. by 37 weeks your baby will have put on enough weight and have developed fully. just remember to ask your dr if steriods are needed which i doubt though. if you would like to talk futher please email me anytime. nothing beats talking to your dr. though. he or she knows best! my address email address is queen_bling22@hotmail.com. My yahoo id is icey_chica. Take care of you and your baby! May God bless you both.
