The eves on our house are currently white, while the siding is green. We've seen other houses where the eves and siding are the same color. Whats' the general rule of thumb? Thanks in advance for any help.

If your eves and the siding are the same material they should fade at the same rate with exposure to the elements and the sun. However, most are a different kind of wood. Or siding is vinyl and eves are wood or other material or vice versa. In any case. Having a color palate can add to the beauty of your home. You can view sample colors on different home types using the Bob Vila paint designer at the link below. Try it with white trim and eves blue green or red. Also check out the neighbor's homes. Also when you repaint often you do the eves without the siding.

We had new siding put on our home, about 3 years ago, and we asked the contractor, what most people do, and he said under the eves, should be the same color, as the trim, so that's what we did, and we are very happy with it. BTW/ the house is yellow, with dark brown trim. Hope this helped, but you just do it, the way you want to..good luck..

Same color is fine. Today just about anything goes and if you like them the same color then go for it
