Check your owner's manual.

I have a sony handycam that records on tape. it has a video and audio output jack that I could connect to any regular piece of A/V equipment. I plug that into an EZMaker USB 2.0 device to connect the cam to the computer, and the IM software recognizes the camera straightaway, if I want to use it.

I have a sony and I use it as a webcam. All I did is set the camera in transfer mode I hooked it up to the computer and the computer saw it installed the driver for it. I tested it in windows movie maker if you can capture video in windows movie maker with your camcorder then you can use it as a webcam you just need to play with it.
