Yes, if the love is without any expectation.
When we look at love as mutual benefit scheme, hate is just the other side of the coin, when the expectation is not met, hate creeps in !

Love and hate are oversimplications of a wide scope of emotions.
If you're referring to dualism, nothing dual can conceptually exist without anything to compare it to.
