C = carbon It is the backbone of all organic compounds in the body.
H = hydrogen It is found in all organic compounds, necessary for energy transfer in many of the living organisms, a major atom in water
N= nitrogen It is found in all proteins, DNA and RNA.
O = oxygen It is also found in all organic compounds, necessary for respiration to run to completion. A major atom in water as well.
P = phosphorus It is a major component in ATP the main energy storage molecule of life.
