It's trendy and cool and it gives them just a "look" of legitimacy.

Like seeing a kid wearing a Led Zeppelin T-shirt.

But it doesnt bother me. I am just hoping that some of the are listening to the music... because I've been dazed and confused all my life, yes it's true... (singing led zep).

I work in a jr. high, and many of the tshirts were bought at a concert they attended (I ask). The trend I find interesting is seeing so many vintage bands advertised on their shirts, such as the Beatles or Led Zepplin, that were way before their time. Perhaps some of these are worn by kids who were never fans--but then again, maybe they were introduced by their parents.

How do you know they don't know who the band is, or what their music is? Do you stop every kid with a band T-shirt on and say "Do you really know the band that's on your shirt?" Until you do that, I'm not going to believe that kids who wear band shirts have no clue who the artist is that's on it.

It's just a marketing thing right now ...... my DD has a AC/DC shirt ..... but she has listened to it ... her friend's mom is a huge fan and has been know to have it blasting while she's cleaning.

And I bought it for her because she liked the design on it and it was only $8.

I'm curious as to why one wouldn't be able to buy a shirt they liked without a history report.. To each their own, and you know that.

well mostly because they want to be part of wats "in"..........also it may b due to peer pressure !!
i hav a frnd hu listens to rap only cos all her frnds find it cool !!!
she doesnt even hav a clue abt wat they r rapping abt !!
its just that some people dont hav the courage to be different !!
they think by wearing such clothes they r creating an image for themselves !! but they r just losing their identity in trying to be someone they cant even relate to !!
hu is not even close to the person they r in real life !!
but i guess it is a phase and everyone grows out of it !!
but those hu remain stuck in it ....will never make a mark for themselves !!
they will always b some1's shadow !

maybe someone who likes that band bought it for them, or they borrowed it from a friend, or they got it from rummage sale because that's all they could afford, and needed a shirt. be sweet. at least music is being advertised.

maybe they didn't know it was music related bcuz it's such an obscure reference?? a friend of mine had an xtc shirt in high school and i totally wanted to rip it off him and was super jealous and he was like i didn't know they were a group it was just a nice shade of orange.
