Anything by Meg Cabot (also uses the alias Jenny Carol), from The Princess Diaries, to The Mediator, to the Missing Series. And of course all her other books, such as Victoria and The Viscount, All American Girl, All American Girl: Ready or Not, etc.
I am 19 years old, and I still borrow my sister's books by Meg Cabot. she is really hilarious.
Another writer for this age is Marianne Curley. Her books include The Guirdians of Time Trilogy (The Named, The Dark, and The Key) and Old Magic. these books are amazing. We only had to do The Named for english class, but the entire class ended up reading all the parts.
Have Fun

Jerry Spinelli's works are always good. If you like adventure/fantasy, try Garth Nix's books (I'd start with Shade's Children or Abhorsen). E.L. Koinsberg writes books about witty and intelligent teens. Caroline B. Cooney has some suspensful mystery/action books (The Face on the Milk Cartoon is a classic). Anne of Green Gables series are mellow but enjoyable. Ask a librarian, they are always helpful.

I think Judy Blume is classic...My favorite is "Summer Sisters". It's a book that many women I know read over and over during their teens.
"Face on the Milk Carton" is a definite read as is "Go Ask Alice"...These were mentionned before and I'm mentionning them again because they truly are classics....
When I use to work in a bookstore, girls of that age range were mostly buying the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series as well as something called Gossip Girl...That's a series too...
