The iPod was designed like a PDA with a partnership link with your “home” system. By default iTunes is installed with automatic updates the iPod (which will erase all your music if connect to computer #2).

One solution is to have your iPod setup as an external hard drive, then download the music onto a folder on your iPod. Then hook up your iPod to your “home” computer and transfer the music to your iTunes library. After you do that, right click on the iPod icon in iTunes and select “update”. Then iTunes will sync with your computer and install the songs on your iPod.

The link below from apple shows you how to setup your iPod as an external drive.

Good Luck!

you cant. iPods are not that great, everyone buys them because they are a trend. if you want to get all the songs on your comp from his you have to put all his songs on a CD in MP3 format using Nero or something like that. then put the CD in your computer. and rip the songs to your itunes library. then when you plug in the iPod, click update on the itunes page.

wel, each ipod comes with its own itunes setup. when you install it, it asks you for the serial number on the bakc of your ipod. thats why it can't recognize other music from other itunes. what you need to do is install itunes on your bf's computer and then copy his songs in there. then you can copy them into your ipod! good luck! problem solved! =]

mite i make a small suggestion? da reason y ur ipod deletes all the songs is because it tries to synchronize it with da computer...i think u can turn off a setting and select it to manually synch da ipod...therefore u shuld be able to copy da songs of another computer..

iTunes must have the same Serial number from the iPod on it, so both computers must have iTuns with the same SN number for your iPod
