If he chooses to run as an independent, dear, he will be playing by the rules. The Constitution, you know.
And, as for "vote siphoner", ever heard of Ross Perot?

Who is Zell Lieberman?
Are you referring to US Senator Joe Lieberman D-Conn? Or perhaps Zell Miller former US Senator D-GA?
Zell Miller has retired.
Joe Lieberman is campaigning to retain his senate seat. How is he not playing by the rules?

Have you found it somewhere in the constitution that only Republicans and Democrats are entitled to run in elections?
After Lieberman wins the election he will probably rejoin the party anyways, so it's much ado about nothing.
