You can do this easily , and it works very well... Its a great idea for people in apts with a deck... They all like as much sun as possible,
but will do fine with 4 - 5hours a day ... ( water them a lot.. the clay pots tend to wick away water , and they dry out rather quickly ..
Or, before you plant , seal the insdie of the pot with clear spray paint;
Just spray the inside ; This will help keep the water in the pot , and its quite safe ( non - toxic )
Plant the oregano in the top , as it forms long running stems; they will do good, hanging over the sides.. Put the Clives in the top also , in the center Its a very up right plant, and looks good coming out of the top .. Good Luck !

You picked a great combination to grow together. They will do well in part sunlight or full sun. Remember that most herbs are indigeneous to the Mediterrenean and grow wild near the seacoast so they like soil with some sand in it and dont fertilize a lot. They are used to poor soil. It makes them store up their essential oils and stuff. Good luck1
PS thyme is a great herb too as well as rosemary and all the mints

No you should not share up the plants in a pot as this will allow competion in in take of food and water and therefore your plants will not strive well .
