Good for you Katie. You remind much of myself when I was younger! I too wanted to go professional.
I had my first 200 when I was 13. My first 600 series when I was 16. And my first 700 series when I was 19. I grew up, pretty much literally, in a bowling alley. My dad used to run a tiny little 10 lane house where myself and all my brothers & sisters grew up. We are all bowlers. My brothers are very good. My oldest brother has had 8 300 games. My other brother hit his first 300 just a couple years back. I'm still hanging in there waiting. Got close with a 280.
One of the biggest thrills of my life was the day a pro/am came into town. This was many moons ago when there was no such thing as automatic score keeping. When I was a young teen, to make money, I'd keep score for tournaments. Well, when the pro/am came, I was more than happy to keep score. I got to see, visit with, and keep score for some big names (including Del Ballard, & Norm Duke). I even got to keep score for a 300 for one of them. It was a fantastic experience. Just one of the reasons I hate automatic scoring! Every kid who loves to bowl should have that opportunity!
Stick with bowing Katie. It's a great sport you can have fun with your entire life.

Yes, I bowl :-) BTW, I always wanted to be a pro bowler myself... But being the fact that at 23 years old my avg. is only a 154 on one league and a 158 on the other, I don't think I have a shot anymore... It was a far-fetched dream. I do have the high scores though, my high game is a 267 with a 612 series which i dont think is anything to complain about, but my avg. certainly isnt there, and tonight I bowled a 170 something and then 2 130 somethings, i dont have the consistency...
Anyway, you don't say how old you are, but you already have me beat definitley with avg. and you even squeaked past me with high game..... Keep up the good work, and keep practicing and maybe you can do it!!!! Just remember to always have a backup plan, don't depend on going pro right away... Go to school and get an education.
Good luck.
