When I played girls' high school tennis, tryouts were right before school started in the fall (around the 3rd week of August), and matches a few weeks later. Mens tennis was in the spring. This may be different in other places, but that's how it is in San Diego.

It depends on what school you go to. Some school have girl's tennis in the fall and some have girl's tennis in the spring. Usually for the fall sports, they start at least a month before school starts. For spring sports, they start at least a couple of weeks before the spring sports start.

In the San Diego School District tennis for girls starts in the fall or right when school starts. Depending on the coach tryouts could be in august or september and the matches are a couple weeks into school.

For boys tennis, it starts in the spring with tryouts in february or march

Girls high school tennis usually starts in the FALL. At my school, we already held try-outs and all that stuff starting on July 31st. You should contact your school's athletic director if you want more information because each district is different.
