I am doing a persuasive speech on gun control, and I need a transition from main point 1 "People with guns who have unstable feelings or tempers can lead to violent consequences very easily." to "Guns Pose such a significant risk to children."

IF EVERY ONE WAS TAUGHT HOW TO USE A GUN JUST LIKE WE ARE ALL TAUGHT TO SWIM A GUN WOULD BE "NO BIG DEAL"
I GREW UP WITH GUNS BEHIND HALF THE DOORS IN THE HOUSE AND WE NEVER BOTHERED THEM AS CHILDREN....UNLESS WE NEEDED THEM FOR A SKUNK, RABID ANIMAL, RATTLE SNAKE ETC
WE DID NOT SHOOT OTHERS OR OURSELVES....
PEOPLE MAY BE UNSTABLE BUT IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO HARM SOME ONE THEY COULD GRAB A KNIFE OR ICE PICK...ARE WE GOING TO REGISTER THOSE ALSO....

Maybe you can discuss the dangers of having a gun in the home, or someone having a gun in the neighborhood.

Not only can a gun be misused during emotional outbursts, or by unstable individuals, but the mere presence of a gun (knowing or seeing that there is a gun nearby) can stimulate greater fear and aggressiveness among "normal" people.

As such having parents, relatives, or neighbors who own and carry guns exposes children to greater risks of injury.
