You probably cannot get a reversal procedure done to make you have another baby. You'd have to contact your OB/GYN and find out for sure. It depends on if your tubes were tied, or burnt and clamped.

Once you've had a tubal ligation, there is always a slight chance that you can become pregnant again.. and that is not a good thing, because the fertilized egg will start growing and developing in the fallopian tube, not in the uterus. This can cause a rupture followed by internal bleeding. This happened to my mother. She had a tubal ligation burnt and clamped kind, 14 years ago, my sister was born Sept. of 1993! After about 4 years, she became deathly sick and had enormous stomach cramping and pain. She had a tubal pregnancy that rutured and she was bleeding to death. Luckily she got to the hospital in time and they had to go in and remove both of her fallopian tubes and clean up the area...

The only way you could probably safely become pregnant would be to have artificial insemination by having test-tube baby implanted inside your uterus. They could take your egg surgically and implant it into your uterus.... but you have 3 kids, that you are lucky to have and I'm sure the procedure would cost ten thousand dollars. Like another poster said, her friend's reversal cost $8,000.

Check with your doctor on the reversal.

YES. My best friend just went to North Carolina to have a reversal done 2 weeks ago and she has a 75% chance of conceiving (her tubal ligation was done 13 years ago--when the last of her 3 kids were born). They will do many hormonal tests on you, and a test on your hubby to make sure he's totally fertile, too (no sense in going thru the surgery if everything ain't "kosher", right?)
The surgery was an outpatient type. We live in WA state, but she chose to go to NC because the "best" doc on the west coast she didn't like. The surgery cost approx $8,000, versus $10,000 EACH TIME for in-vitro fertilization and the odds are much better (at least for her) to have the reversal. See your doc first and see if you're a good candidate. Often times it depends on the type of ligation was done in the first place.
Hope this helps! God bless you!

They do perform reversals, but it depends on how they performed surgery when your tubes were tied. I have heard when they cut and tie, there is alot more scarring. When they use the rings, then it would be easier to reconnect as they are basically squeezed together. You would need to speak to a surgeon that performs this type of reversal to get the percentage of your chances. There is always adoption of children that need wonderful parents.......I have had rings put on my tubes and have wondered if I would want to be reversed or adopt. Something in me says why not take a child that is already here and needs a good home with love they desperately need. But that is me and I do know reversals are very expensive.

I'm having a tubal ligation next week. The literature I was given says that reversals ARE possibly, however only have about a 30% success rate.

It all depends on which procedure was used to "tie" them to begin with. My tubes were burned shut with acid, so the procedure can not be reversed because of scarring. If your's were done in such a way as to preclude scarring, then there is a possibility that reversing the procedure may work. The only way to find out for sure is to ask your doctor.

If your tubes are tied, the sperms can't never meet your egg to introduce themselves!! They just run into a dead-end and die there (ligation area) of sadness!! Go see a Doc to find out if your tubes can be untied after so long!! At 35 you are still can have kids so good luck!! If not, ask the doc for other alternatives!

Even though the accepted notion is 'no', the real answer is it depends on how the tubal ligation was done and the skill of your surgeon. Good luck.

yes you can have a tubiligation reversal so long as they tied your tubes and not fused them - which was more commonly used in the 90's good luck and best wishes
