I figured they were from India but not a tractor manufacturer. Anyone care to add why this listing is under Car Makes at all?????????

You'll notice as time goes on that more of the global influence of yahoo comes into this site. I believe Mahindra is an auto manufacturer in SE Asia and/or India.

It's an Indian company with presence in India and S. Africa. Makes tractors and UVs (not cars). It has financial services and IT subsidiaries too. It's recent (late 2002) launch, Scorpio, is a huge success. Check -

mahindra and mahindra are world's second largest tractor manufacturer and they are pushing aggresively for reaching the top spot.
They manufacture SUV's and their firsrt car is going to be manufactured in assistance with Renault.It is Renault logan or Dacia Logan

i dont know about the cars but, mahindra is in india. they make tractors. cheap tractors. they bought old International Harvestor manufacturing machinery. they make small tractors that are just like 1970's vintage IH.
the mahindra tractors are sold in the US at Case-IH dealerships.

this is not a stupid category as u think . that company is the best utility vehicle making company of india . it has also launched its large range of vehicles in Spain.
