there will always be good music no matter what the genre. however, except the truly talented & innovative artists, i think most singers would try to remake old hits (even more than now).

Music will survive, but the type of music won't be meaningful at all. There will be no more Marvin Gayes, Luther Vandrosses, Aretha Franklins, Patti Labelles, etc.... Only a lot of rap groups. Not that there's anything wrong with rap, but NOBODY actually sings anymore. All entertainers have to have now is a good beat and it's ON! I don't think music will ever go back to what it was.

There is still a great deal of good music out there...you just have to work to find it. Mainstream radio has become less about the music and more about what lets their advertisers get the most bang for their buck. If a station knows FOB has x number of teen and preteen fans, and company A, their huge budget advertiser is targeting teens and preteens, then they'll play FOB until the CD melts, just to make those big bucks.

music started getting really good in the 60's and went throught the mid 70, but disco and 80's metal (with some exception) started ruining music, then in the 90s it was mostly rap and pop. lately though it's been getting better with bands such as coldplay (don't laugh, I'm serious), radiohead (yes i know they were technically 90s), coheed and cambria, queens of the stone age, and franz ferdinand are starting to have influences from older bands, but are still keeping things fresh and original. i think music is as good as it's been since they mid 70's (notable exceptions in the crappy era or music include guns n roses, queensryche, and boston to a certain extent)

100 years??? Good music dies 5 years ago.

All this Pop and Rap crap that is out now-a-days has completely ruined the music scene.

Since its obvious that this generation of performers lack originality, with a few exceptions, I believe music will just keep repeating what works.
