At first listen you would think that it was Eric Clapton singing the song but it's not. It's said that all members of this band has either commited suicide or no longer living. I really need help here...I love this song that they do.

Was it Badfinger?

Badfinger's second album, Straight Up, was released in 1972, and spawned two successful singles, "Day After Day" and "Baby Blue." George Harrison and Todd Rundgren took production credits on the LP, Badfinger's most commercially successful record, with Harrison and Ham trading slide guitar solos on "Day After Day". ' Decades later, Straight Up ranked as the most-requested CD release among out-of-print albums in a readers poll for Goldmine magazine.

I've just read a brief bio of George - link below - and nothing is mentioned about a band in the 70s, other than his involvement in the Concert For Bangladesh and his big hit, "My Sweet Lord"...however, regarding bands, you may be thinking of The Travelling Wilburys - link below - which was formed in 1988 and consisted of Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, and George. Sadly Roy Orbison, and of course George have passed away. The Traveling Wilburys were very successful and one of their major hits was "End Of The Line". Long Live George and Roy!

added: Just read more on the band "Badfinger", who were an 'heir apparent' to The Beatles, whom George did work with somewhat at Apple Records...seems that Peter Ham committed suicide, and later another bandmate, Tom Evans also did in the same manner (see link below)...Mike Gibbins died in his sleep at age 56...in June this year, a Badfinger convention brought the surviving members together...their big hits were great..."Baby Blue", "Day After Day", among others.
