my fiance is a pilot living in Italy. His concern is how he will be able to work in the states as a commercial pilot once we are married. He would like to know how he can go about getting his American ATP and where to go and how much it would cost? He would prefer somewhere in Maryland for testing if possible.

I would have him look at the faa.gov site for info. It might be as simple as getting to an FAA examiner and taking the practical test. He also might consult with perspective employers to see if they would spring for the course and testing. If all else fails, he can buy a copy of flying magazine and look in the advertising in the back. I have seen ads for ATP ratings for about 15K.

I would go surf on internet and get a hold of all the Major Airlines
and ask questions. Who to talk to ?...etc. You should get alot of
answers to ur Q's. Good Luck...His being a pilot, he should know pretty much where to ask for help....
