To some degree. But if a person had a near-death experience like got off a plane that crashed or got off the train tracks just in time, then they were probably meant to avoid death that time.

i have all three movies, i do think its s good theory, that death has a plan. but i doubt anyone would ever have the ability to figure it out. makes for some good movies though!

Of course, it's a movie, so it's fabricated, but the whole point of "if your destiny was to die, than you propably will" .... yeah, I would almost agree. I'm not comletely sure because what if THAT is the destiny - to actually escape it? Then it shouldn't haunt you, right?
