Funny. When my parents were in high school, they would go on dates and it would start to stink in the car. My dad would say, "Oh, smell that? We must have just passed someone's sewer pond!" And he was really just farting in the car and my mom believed him! She didn't grow up in a house where people farted around eachother, and couldn't believe people actually did that around other people. After 31 years of marriage, she believes it now!

Horrifyingly funny. But great fun if you have kids with you. You can let loose and blame it all on them. The worst farts we experienced however, were from our Golden Retriever... Silent but DEADLY. After too much chicken leftovers, we had an hour drive home and our poor puppy had an upset stomach. We'd being going merrily along the highway when all of a sudden the most foulest of foul smells would jump up at our noses... imagine two adults and two young boys chatting away and all of a sudden all four people leap for the windows and get them down as far as possible and as quickly as possible... too bad that the wind is trying to drag us out of the car.. we have to breath and there is no escape... not even with all the windows down and sunroof open. After 5 of these episodes in less than 10 minutes, we were all laughing hysterically while being blown away ... at the 6th episode we decide we better get off the highway and let puppy out.... boy did she fly out of the car !!!! No more chicken for you doggy!

Horrifying at first especially if the windows won't go down.
Later....years later ... it's more funny, but not if the memory brings the smell back to your nose.

If it's you making others gag, then it's funny. If you're the one puking out the window, then it's horrifying. I personally feel the longer, the louder, and the stinkier anal methane is, the funnier it is.

funny..especially when its quiet and then all of a sudden you hear a toot lol but if your parents toot in front of your friends that would be horrifying
