2 hrs and counting... its the push pull type

It's pretty simple and straight forward. I don't know what you could be having a problem with.
-Loosen the cable adjusters that clamp the cables to the carbs (rear of the carbs) and remove them from the clamps.
-Remove the cables.
-Loosen the lock nuts on the cables at the throttle (handle bar grip).
-Unscrew the R handle bar switch (where the cables go in).
-Route the new cables the same way the old ones go.
- What's the problem?

Disassembly per the manual's (whichyou will buy tomorrow) instructions. Of course you didn't say you don't have a manual but I just figured you didn't. Check the wing websites or ask the online specific groups- surely yahoo groups has a bazillion Gold Winger groups...
