To balance out love. Everything needs to be in balance. All of the people here talk about hate as if it were only a bad thing. I hate Minnesota Viking fans (I'm a Green Bay Packer fan). Without the Vikings or the Bears to root against, football wouldn't be fun. Granted, I don't literally hate the other fans, but I do have those feelings right after we lose. It balances out after we win the next time. There are many examples where a little hate is a good thing. It can inspire you to stand up for something you belive in, like hating a company that pollutes the environment. You stand up to them and bring light to the issue to eventually bring about a positive change.

It's like the first person stated. It's not hate, it's fear of the unknown. No one really likes not knowing or being familiar with something, and in turn they end up hating them. Don't get frustrated with them, if anything, feel sorry for them because they do not understand. If they choose to remain ignorant, then they're idiots, and hopefully evolution will do its thing.

People hate for many reasons, lack of understanding, fear of the unknown, because something or someone is different. Because they saw it as a child and learned it from their parents and society.
There is no easy answer. Hate is a powerful emotion and it is hardto break the cycle.

I have heard many say don't hate the sinner, hate the sin. I say don't hate at all. When one finds hate in one, dispel it immediately. Use Love to do so. And that is why there is hate... to bring Love where Love seems not to be. The foundation of hate is fear. There was/is a primeval fear that spawn all other fear... long story though. God is Love & that's all there is.

Lack of control. Some people love to be in control of every situation and when they don't understand they are lost. It is sad that people can't be flexible or open minded enough to be willing to learn something new from someone else.

I look at it this way. We are at an early stage in our evolution. Civilization is what our evolution will perfect. If we survive our collective immaturity our scions will enjoy a level of civility that we as primitives cannot imagine. I believe the thousand year reign of Christ mentioned in Revelations is the beginning of that evolutionary process. Jesus being the model citizen we will be like him naturally. Can you dig it?

You already have the answer. People ONLY hate that which they are afraid of or don't understand. Education of both the heart and the mind is the only answer.
All you need is love....
Peace.

Not all do. It is unfortunate the times we live in that most groups are represented by the hateful.
