Ovulation only takes very small amount of time, and the egg lasts 24 hours, but since sperm can live up to 5 days, having sex 5 days before you ovulate can result in a pregnancy. The fertile days start then, and end the day after you ovulate.

My pregnancy was from me having sex 4 days before I ovulated. I timed it that way for a girl, since male sperm usually dies after a couple of days.

You can only be pregnanted only for 3 days for each menstrual cycle (not in a month). These 3 days are called "THE RED ZONE: NO PARKING AND UNLOADING"!! The sperms can live up to 2 days but the ovulated egg can live up to 3 days. i dont know exactly but i do know that ovulation itself is just the release of the egg. then you have a couple days where it hangs out then your period happens and then you clean out the place and start over. but i think you have more than 3 days to get preggers try something like 14 with declining chances after the ovulation. but hopefully someone else knows more than me and can help out more.

well you have 24 hours of ovulating, sperm last up to three days, so be sure when you have sex do it a day or two before ovulation.
