How do you press this on the guitar?

Here's the tab ( hope it comes out right)

am i suppose to just touch my D string to mute the string and press down on the G and A strings

Correct! Actually theres three ways to pick/strum..
1. Like you mentioned, strum the 3 strings together with the D string muted
2. With a pick, pick the A string and at the same time fingerpick the G string with your middle finger upsroking.
3. Fingerpick, the A string with your thumb and the G string with your first finger.
