At 18 all anyone is interested in is whether you will work hard, show up on time, and do your job without too much griping. Also, tell them you learn new things quickly, so they know they don't have to spend too much time training you.

Tip 1: Be aware of the obvious, like posting questions in the right category, a prospective employer might think you are incapable of doing the job if you can't do something as simple as post a question in the right section of yahoo answers. Tip 2: Use correct punctuation, capitalization, spelling and grammar. A prospective employer doesn't want his company represented by someone too lazy to write intelligently.

I myself swore that I'd never work in the food business, as such I haven't :)

However, in my experience it seems that employers tend to look at experience when hiring part time employees. (ie. retail exp. for a retail employer) with 3 years at a restaurant you have a good shot at getting hired at a restaurant once more. Like mentioned before, stay out of the fast food biz, you at least have a shot at tips in an actual restaurant.

find what you have a knack for. The first place to look is in an area that your interested in. Once you find something that you like and your good at , apply yourself to succeeding at that one thing and run with it.

Depends on what you like to do.

When it is time for the interview dress nicely, speak up, shake hands firmly and be organized and on time.
