some people seem down on you for observing horror- they imagine the films are infantile. at the same time as horror video clips are nicely performed, they're very pleasing and a great use of mind's eye. i love horror as a lot because the subsequent individual. And would not all of us like a sturdy scare in certain circumstances?

It's pure excitement, thrill, and suspense all mixed together. Sometimes people just want to scream and be afraid and accidentally pee in their pants (jk, haha) It's just good entertainment and works well when ur w/ friends or a significant other. I love horror films- it's just really fun. It's like asking why people like roller coasters? To get ur adrenaline pumping

I believe it's because it's a way of escaping from real life into a temporary, fantasy world where horrific and terrible things happen to normal people like you and me, with otherworldly sites and sounds we would not be experiencing in our everday life.
We know that what we are seeing is "not real", that we are in a "safe zone", yet we can experience the feeling of knowing what it might be like if these things we see and hear could actually happen to us...this is our imagination at work
It's normal human behavior to seek "thrills", and these things projected on a screen are emotionally "thrilling" and yet physically harmless.
Summed up in one word: ESCAPISM

What the hell does fat people, mcdonalds and being high have to do with a horror flick?
Seems like your an awfuly bitter person. Maybe you should re-evaluate your own life.
Sometimes watching a good horror movie releases the rage and anger you feel inside without expressing it your own self.
You should try it.
Why do so many women watch those crappy love story drama movies? Could it be because their own love life sucks so bad that they have to watch a movie to feel good??

It's called a morbid fascination. A disgusting curiosity. You can't help but look as you pass a car wreck,....looking to see if anyone is seriously hurt.Scary movies are a little different. They make your adrenaline rush,....and that just makes you feel good, it releases the good endorphins, and we all like that.

It is the adrenaline rush. Same as why people like skydiving, etc. When you get a rush of adrenaline from being scared, it is almost like a high and it can be addictive.

It's human nature. Most of us are fascinated by death. Almost all of us keep reminders of it around us. Whether that reminder is a slasher movie or a picture of a dead loved one, the central theme is the same. Death.
