What can I do to start my period without going on hormone replacement therapy?

I have been to the doctor to restart my period they only say that i can take drugs to jump start my period again. I have done that but i want to have my period without taking drugs. and hopefully want to get pregnat someday. I feel like it wont happen. I am at a healthy weight 5'6 130. and I am axiously waiting... its been a long time. but my docotrs really not too concerned. but i am.

Well your current age and the age you started your period at weren't include in the information above. It takes time for a woman's cycle to regulate, for some in a month or so they are every 28 days while others take a few years to be on a monthly bases and have an idea of what week they'll get it. Going on "the pill" can assist in regulateing a woman's cycle and is worth considering. If your doctor isn't too concerned then trust their word and try not to be too worked up. Feel free to ask them questions about the cause of it and what would cause reason for concern or even questions you may have about getting pregnant at a later time in life. Theres nothing you can do to regulate it other than go on a form of medication.

Have you had a through exam by an ob-gyn and have you had both a pregnancy test and blood work done to determine the cause. Where you menustrating regularly before? You did not state your age. If it is just one month several things can cause it. Losing weight, stress, too much exercise, too many carbs in diet. Too much sugar intake. Thyroid disease, cystic ovaries....etc...see doctor soon...nita

You may have pcos it is a desiese and you have to take birth control to regulate your period.I know I have it.
