I was only mean the first trimester. I was a complete emotional wreck. Short tempered. Mad one minute, crying the next. Towards the end I was a little more snippy than usual, because of the discomfort and severe back pain. By 2 pm I couldn't get comfortable unless I laid flat on my back, which wasn't possible at work.
Some women simply take advantage of it. Some women simply hate being pregnant. I personally loved it. Not all are that way.

What makes you think they feel like being mean / nasty? There is SO much going on inside a woman's body during pregnancy, it's a wonder we can ever be nice during it. It affects different women differently, but I personally wasn't a happy all the time pregnant woman for any of my kids. My family enjoys when I'm happy and is understanding when I'm not. The people that trip out if I'm in a mood due to the baby lying on my sciatic nerve, didn't get any sleep the night before, am tired as hell of heartburn, and I'm not giddy about my boobs weighing seemingly 10 lbs. each...well, to hell with 'em.

I felt so sweet and in love with my baby and in love with me because I was carrying our baby. It took us a long time before we got married to get pregnant because of this that and the other thing.
I was so excited and happy that I don't think I could have (on purpose) been mean or nasty to anyone.
The only thing I can think of is hormone SWINGS!!! Because I do know that there were times that I would with no provocation start crying!!!!! Or start laughing, OK but that was because the baby would do something that tickled or I SWEAR pass gas, and that's the strangest feeling having something inside you bubble!!!!
So I'm sorry for whatever happened to you - but I think HORMONES are probably to blame!!!!

i'm pregnant 5 months with my 3rd i've NEVER been nasty to who ever i wanted pregnant or not. BUT hormones are outta wack and the bigger you get the more irrated you are you can't breath right you get weird cramps and sore boobs so that is enough to make a women snappy fast. I never used my pregnancy as a way to get away with being a bi**h

The fluctuating hormones usually has a lot to do with the sudden mood swings and urges to yell at whoever they get the urge to. I didn't go through the mean/nasty stage when I was pregnant with my son...I used to cry though at the drop of a hat.

These pregnant women who are mean/nasty are those who have low self esteem...they feel that they are ugly when they are pregnant....They just dont know that a woman is more beautiful when she is pregnant..that is called the pride of pregnancy...
Pregnant women must always be happy....cheerful...coz it really reflects when the baby is out.... :-)

Usually we only get nasty when total strangers come up and touch our stomachs, or when they ask questions that really arent any of their business (when are you due what are you having etc. etc.). I would only get nasty when people would touch my stomach, I dont know you so I certainly dont want you touching me or giving me your germs. I think we have the right to be that way if people are going to go out of their way to make us uncomfortable. Not to mention its not easy being pregnant especially in the summertime. You have to deal with all the extra weight then people acting stupid, its a lot of us to deal with.

Maybe they aren't feeling good about themselves or their condition. Maybe they feel physically ill too.
As for myself, when I was pregnant, I was at my happiest and just loved everyone. I see that attitude a lot in pregnant women.

personally i can't answer that cause when i was pregnant i was nice to every one everyone would tell me that i was being to nice the only reason i could give is harmons are going crazy and their is nothing anyone can do about it
