Claritin is a good daily antihistamine (can be found OTC under the name Loratidine). There are also several that are by prescription only (Allegra, Zyrtec)...which may or may not work better for you, but also could possibly be cheaper if you have prescription drug insurance (which doesn't cover OTC's). All of the above cause little to no drowsiness and are once-daily dosing (unless you take Allegra-D, which is twice a day)
Exercise does not help with allergic reactions to my knowledge...and oftentimes can make them worse for the sole reason that you may be exercising outside where there are allergens present in the air. We develop more allergies as we age, so it's not abnormal to suddenly - in your 20s or later - have allergies or hay fever that you did not have previously.
Try the Claritin every morning, if after 2 weeks you haven't seen any improvement, talk to your doc about other options.

I've begun using fexofenadine, a generic brand of allegra. It seems to work for me .
You'd be surprised what causes allergy reactions, within our homes! Call your doctor, maybe they have a list for you to do a check with.. even the dirt we use in our plant's pots can give us cause for trouble..

I don't think exercise will reduce allergic reactions, though it will probably make you stronger and more able to stand up against them.
As for a year-round medication, you'll want to talk with a doctor about that.
Good luck!

If Claritin is working for you, then there is not any reason you will desire to decide on Zyrtek. i replaced into utilising Claritin for roughly 2 months and it did no longer something for me. I had nasal congestion contained in the morning, very itchy eyes, sneezing and runny nostril, and an itchy throat. The pharmacist mentioned that i take advantage of Zyrtek for my indicators. And it somewhat is spectacular!
