I haven't really played tennis before. In 5th grade i took lessons and after that the only thing i have done was hit the ball around with my brother or up against the garage. I have always wanted to play tennis for my high school but 9th grade i have no idea why but i didnt try out. In 10th grade the only people told about tryouts were the people on the team from the previous year. Then in 11th grade i moved to a new state and i couldnt tryout because i wasnt even registered until after tryouts. Now i am a senior and I feel so stupid that i didn't tryout in 9th grade. The tryouts are on the 10th. I have no idea what i even need for tryouts. I tried to find out on the school website but they just had tryout dates. All i know is that our team wasnt so good last year and that there wasnt a lot of girls on the team but then again ihave no idea how many people are usually on the team. I dont know whether i should tryout or if i should just forget about it. What can i do? should i tryout?

Give it a shot. Worse case you don't make it. Then just practice more and your game will improve. Tennis is fun!

Most high schools accept all of the players, just because of the lack of popularity for high school tennis. You should give it a shot! For tryouts, bring a tennis racquet, towel, water or sports drink, clothes to work out in/play tennis in, tennis shoes, a sports physical form (most schools require these to be turned in before u can even tryout), and bring ur best! lol, i dont know, just try out, try your hardest, the coach will probably let u be on the team if u show dedication.

if you want to tryout you should, i know plenty of seniors who tryout for the first tiem their senior year. though you may not play competitively alot, you will get better because you will be playing often. in terms of getting ready, i would try and play some competitive matches. that is most likely how you will be judged by teh coach, how you compete in "challenge" matches. also, go there with a good atitude. high school coaches are looking for great players, but also players taht arent going to bring their team down. i hope you do well and good luck in your tennis playing

You should definetly try-out, If you got all your equipments, (racquet, shoes, etc..) then do it!. Just show up with your racquet and PLAY!!!!!!!!!
As long as you show that you're trying, you shouldn't be worried. If you have a tennis court, practice serving by yourself, and if theres a wall, hit around before you tryout to get into some kind of rhythm. But if there are people then def. try and play with people first. good luck.

Go for it! Take your raquet and some balls. Just wear shorts and a tank top or t-shirt (not a baggy one.)
My daughter took up tennis as a spring sport her sophomore year. She had never played in her life. Her basketball coach told her it would be good for her eye/hand coordination.
Her senior year she was chosen Most Valuable Player.
If you don't make the team, keep playing anyway! Tennis is a good sport to do throughout your life!

Find out who the coach is and talk to him/her before tryouts. Find out what to bring and even if it'll be worth your time to tryout.

Good Luck.

ya you should try out. all you need to bring to the try outs is a racket or two if you have two and some water. even if you don't make it keep trying.
