Could you help me simplify this?

I got 861, and I know that isn't the answer!

Yup, its 37. How did you possibly get 861?
Virtually all calculators will understand order of operations and give you the correct answer. Some low tech ones may do the operations as you enter them but, in this example, the incorrect answer would be 71.
Maybe another question would be to figure out where the 861 came from!

do the addition 34+32=66
do the subtraction 66-29=37

= 34 + (16 x 2) - 29
= 34 + 32 - 29
= 66 - 29
= 37

then its addtiion and subtraction from left to right....
