I believe this war is a religious war. Because Israel is Gods choosen people. And all around us you see presecution aimed at the Christian faith, and the Jewish faith. People have through the decades have hated Jewish people because of there standing with God,and God's standing with them. But they have never succeded in conquering the jewish people, and never will. Just as prayer being took out of schools, and the ten commanment taken out of court houses, and the name of Jesus becoming a offense to people of different beliefs. Homosexuality being reconized as OK. When the bible clearly speaks against such acts in the first chapter of Romans. This is truly what I believe is a religious war. People are rising against Gods anointed, and they will fall. For the bible tells"Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm."

Their being the chosen people is made by themselves. See what they say about their race comparing to other people, terrible :

"Our race is the Master Race. We are divine gods on this planet. We are as different from the inferior races as they are from insects. In fact, compared to our race, other races are beasts and animals, cattle at best. Other races are considered as human excrement. Our destiny is to rule over the inferior races. Our earthly kingdom will be ruled by our leader with a rod of iron. The masses will lick our feet and serve us as our slaves."
— Israeli Prime Minister Menechem Begin

The body of a Jewish person," Schneerson bragged, "is of a totally different quality from the body of members of all other nations of the world. Bodies of the Gentiles are in vain. An even greater difference is in regard to the soul...A non-Jewish soul comes from three satanic spheres, while the Jewish soul stems from holiness."

First note... the JEWISH are god's chosen people. Israel (pronounced IsRAel) was given to them by God but taken away from them long after the bible was written

Second Israel (Pronounced IsrEel) Was given to the Jewish by the UN and Allied powers after WWII.

Third there are Arabs/Muslims that live in Israel as well as Jews that live in Arab lands.

I think for the Hezbollah, Hamas, The Talaban (sp?), and the PLO it is a religious war. For Israel it's a protection of sovereinty (sp?) and political war.

If it were a true "religious war" then Israel would have kicked out all of the muslims residing in their country. However, since Israel hasnt done that, I dont think you can call it a true "religious war". Quote the bible all you want, to lable a war religious or not, religion has to be the key motivator in fighting by BOTH sides, however this is not the case.

Yes, it is a religious war, but not in the context in which you are thinking.
The jihadists are fanatical Muslims, and it is their aim to wipe out Israel, the US, Britain, and any other country that does not believe the way they do. It is their aim to convert everyone to Islam or kill them as unbelievers, heretics and infidels.
Yet another example of fanaticism in all its glory. Two fanatical factions fighting each other results in death and destruction, which is what we are seeing now. Leave religion out of government and in the church, where it belongs.
Trying to force others to believe the way one believes to be the ONE TRUE path is a sure fire way to make lots of enemies and cause much sorrow.

I was about to ask you "which" war you were talking about, until you explained in depth.

When religions break from an original religion, (or in the case of Israel when two religions break from each other) bad feelings always occur. This is the main problem. It's an age old problem. It's like two brothers fighting for the praise and favor of their father.

No. This war is a cover for Iran to be able to further their nuke program. Hezbollah is funded by both Iran and Syria. Iran and Syria have also trained many Hezbollah soldiers. Israel is only defending themselves. They are the unlucky target.

If Jews are god's chosen people, then why didn't he save them during the Holocaust (like he did in Egypt, for example)? Thus, don't believe everything the bible says.

Any war in the Middle East (the land of religious zealots) is a religious war.

This is a war for land - the Jews want more and oil - the US wants more.

And any 'escalation' is similarly motivated.

When Israel or the US attack Iran (yes, one of them would - that's the plan all along) it will be for oil.

Yes, Russian (Rosh) will lead the Arabian legions into combat against Jerusalem and try to destroy it. God will stop it there and the rapture will happen.

There is a spiritual war on many fronts. It is the struggle for souls that is delineated in the Bible as well as the war for power and money waged in so many countries among religious sects.

As regards the war in Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israel, there is a definite religious component. Hezbollah is Arabic حزب "hezb" means party and الله‎‎‎ "Allah" is the Arabic (not Muslim only) word for God.

Muslims want to rid the world of fitnah. Qutb, an Islamic scholar, writes that the world would be a utopia under Islamic theocracy. Islam is a political as well as a religious system.

Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl (8):39 {Eng, Ar, transliteration}:
So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world)" ... "And fight with them until there is no more fitnah (persecution) and religion should be only for Allah

Allah commands deeds of terror by the believers against the unbelievers as the means of creating the emotion of terror in their hearts. The only reason needed for action is that "they resisted Allah and His Messenger". Such an approach to "conflict management" is nothing to be ashamed about according to Islamic understanding, but it is a basis for pride. According to Islam, it is one reason for the superiority of Muhammad over all other prophets.

Qur'an Surah Ãli-´Imrãn (3):151
We will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, since they set up besides GOD powerless idols. Their destiny is Hell; what a miserable abode for the transgressors! (Khalifa trans.)

Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl (8):12-13
Recall that your Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you; so support those who believed. I will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. You may strike them above the necks, and you may strike even every finger. This is what they have justly incurred by fighting GOD and His messenger. For those who fight against GOD and His messenger, GOD's retribution is severe.(Khalifa trans.)

Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl (8): 59-60
Let not the unbelievers think that they can get the better (of the godly): they will never frustrate (them). Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly. (Yusuf Ali trans.)

Qur'an Sura Al-Qasas (28):39 {Eng, Ar, transliteration}:
Permission (to fight) is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and most surely Allah is well able to assist them; (Shakir trans.)

Permission to take up arms is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged and ALLAH, indeed, has power to help them (Sher Ali trans.).

Qur'an Surah al-Hujurat (49):15
Mumim (true Muslims) believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and without doubt they strive in the cause of Allah( jihad fee Sybil Allah) with their wealth and their lives. Those! They are the sincere.

No one wins in a war over power and property. Property can be restored, but even a lifetime is not long enough to resolve grief over a lost loved one. In the spiritual battle a person must rely on spiritual armor.

Since Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in the messiah, maybe praying for the messiah to come and bring lasting peace before the world destroys itself would be a win-win-win solution
