is it to late to change my major?

I'm a Junior in college this fall. All my life i wanted to be a teacher. So as soon as I got into college two years ago I choose Elementary education as my major...Now im slowly starting to loose interest in my major and starting to gain interest in Nursing. I have a 3.89 gpa. And also my boyfriend is in his last year of medical school and he will be starting his residency in a couple months. So i want to be a nurse so i can spend more time with him as well. My question is, is it a good idea to change my major now when Im a junior?

Definitely need to see your guidance counselor on this one. But I totally agree with the answer that said do not change your major to be near your boyfriend. That would be a very bad idea. At this point, you need to follow your own strong instincts about what career will fulfill you and take that path (not the path of least resistance) even if it means additional time in school or whatever.

The average student changes their majors three times in college. The college my daughter goes to encourages students not to pick a major until their Junior year. You are a great student. You should definetly change to something you enjoy more. It may take a little longer to graduate, but what's the hurry?

You might be able to change majors, depends on how much needs to be done with the nursing program as opposed to education.

First of all--don't change your major to be nearer to your boyfriend. you need to do something that YOU enjoy doing no matter what he might be doing.

Second--check with your advisor at school to see if it's too late to switch majors.

Third -- If you're planning on teaching America's children, you might want to work on your grammar (i.e., complete sentences).
