Outsourcing is caused by several factors. The costs of labor, health care, pensions and such have made made American products too expensive, and we lose the competitive edge. American work ethics have deteriorated to where many workers are only partially productive. Companies are responsible to their investors to be profitable so if I can buy a product in another country, import it and make a decent profit, I would be a fool not to do so. The Japanese take business seriously and consider it as war and now own about 100% of Honolulu and close to 80% of Los Angeles because of their strong work ethics. I think America is in a declining mode from our own actions, not because of foreign competition. Here in China, people are not clock-watchers and frequently return to their jobs on week ends or in the evenings...without over time!
