I heard there were good virus protectors for free on the internet does anyone know a good one

I use AVG
It's fine and I've never had a problem in 8 years. The most important thing to remember is to set it to search for updates daily, or at least as soon as you connect to the internet. Downloads are automatic and cost nothing.
